Port
Stephens is one of Australia’s great holiday destinations just one hour
north of Newcastle and two hours north of Sydney on the NSW North Coast
and is the home of the Blue Water Country Music Festival .
In
2006 the Blue Water Country was introduced into the Australian Country
Music calendar on the June long weekend at Port Stephens and Nelson
Bay. Now in its 4th year, the Festival has grown from 15 venues in
2006, to over 40 venues in 2008.
Headlining
this years festival are Jetty Road with Markus Meier at Soldiers Point
Bowling Club and The Sunny Cowgirls. This festival is a unique concept
in Country Music, with the efforts of the
organisers to ‘Bring the Country to the Coast’.
The FREE entertainment at the festival is amazing with cameo
performances from our headline acts on Saturday June 9th in the Port
Stephens FM Marquee on the stunning Nelson Bay Foreshore. This year the
marquee is bigger and better than ever before with its own licensed bar
area.
There
are plenty of new talents performing at the festival and some favorites
from previous years - enjoy Steve Passfield in the Marquee, Ryan
Sampson a Toyota Starmaker finalist in 2012 performing classics like
Edith Annie and Marilyn Monroe was a size 14.
Expressions
of interest are open for a caravan and camping expo to be held in
conjunction with the Blue Water Country Music Festival.

In some cases, the venues are on Cruise Boats which pass the day sailing amongst the dolphins in the Port Stephens waterways and the Karuah River a unique concept in Country Music, with the efforts of the organisers to ‘Bring the Country to the Coast’.
Judging by the level of interest from both performers and potential visitors, the magnificent Blue Water paradise of Port Stephens, will again provide a spectacular backdrop to many venues as well as attracting a premier line-up of established Country Music artists.
