About The Festival of the Sea

There will be no Festival of the Sea in 2011

About our 2010 Festival of the Sea

Nelson Bay is a small coastal township based on the shores of beautiful Port Stephens just 2.5 hours drive from Sydney.

Our communities lives and livelihoods are linked to the natural environment and we celebrate the beauty of the region and the amazing animals which reside in our harbour, off our shores and in the local bushland.

The festival will be held October 4-6 2010 at d'Albora Marinas in the adjacent parkland and in the township of Nelson Bay and surrounding areas.

Organisations like National Parks and Wildlife, the Port Stephens Great Lakes Marine Park and Econetwork will have static display stands on the Marina and we have the life size whale from IFAW coming to the festival which is a great showpiece. Kids just love the opportunity to see how big these creatures really are!

There are free activities for kids like sand modelling, making save a whales tails, competitions and prizes and free showbags.

Many market stalls are already booked and of course our sponsors are offering some great prizes and packages for activity participants.

The launch of our festival was sponsored by Tamboi Queen Cruises and will be hosted aboard Spirit.
