Nelson Bay Town Management
In May the Nelson Bay community were invited to attend a strategic planning meeting to contribute to a new strategic plan for the area and to establish definitive responsibilities for our organisation.  The annual funding from Port Stephens Council to cover the salaries and administrative costs of running Nelson Bay Town Management is no longer available.

Funds have been allocated from Business Port Stephens towards the staging of events – particularly Tastes at the Bay and the Blue Water Country Music with some funding towards administration.

Any work taken on by our office must generate funds and income to keep the organisation viable.

Fresh Food Markets in Nelson Bay
We are currently working to introduce the Fresh Food Markets into Magnus Street and Apex Park with d’Albora Marinas involved as well.

Traffic management plans, parking arrangements, maps and plans of where each stall will be placed, a DA application outlining all those details, plus costs to close Magnus Street once a month are all a part of the requirement to succeed with this project.

The Psychic and Spiritual Expo is on again at the Marina Resort, Magnus Street. Saturday August 8 and Sunday August 9 from 10am to 2pm.  Entry is free.
Come and browse at stalls with crystals, books, CD’s, jewellery and all things spiritual.  Physic and clairvoyant readers including Mandy Coles will be available for readings.  Call 0402 348 597 for information and bookings.

Sunday, September 6 (Father's Day) 
           ~ PADDLE FOR PENNIES ~
Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddling in the safe and shallow waters of Port Stephens to raise funds for the Rotary Club of Salamander Bay.
Be at George Reserve, Soldiers Point Road, Soldiers Point at 9.30am to register for a 10am start. Entry Fee for adults is $10. Children a gold coin donation.

Free BBQ for fathers at midday.  Entry forms available at Wanda Beach Pharmacy, Nelson Bay Newsagent, Salamander Bay newsagent or on the day. Enquiries to Bernie Fitzsimons 0419 171 291.
